It is our goal to
provide the best service possible to all our new customers. In an
attempt to minimize conflicts with construction and scheduling, we
need the cooperation of builders with houses under construction.
Proper communication and coordination between the builder and our
Engineering department are essential.
We strongly recommend
that builders or homeowners apply for gas service installation at
the start of the framework on houses under construction. This
enables FHNGA to coordinate our scheduling with the customers need
for service. Another potential problem is that the builder is
responsible for coordinating the scheduling of the installation of
the septic system in relation to the gas service installation. The
builder may avoid these problems by installing the septic system
early or by contacting our Engineering department promptly before
the gas service scheduling.
Generally, FHNGA or
its contractor installs the gas service in the most direct route
from the proposed meter location (marked by a yellow flag at the
house) to the gas main at the street. It is the builder¹s
responsibility to "locate" and mark privately owned utilities as
described on the application.
Please notice that
after the initial service installation, any service requiring
height adjustment at the meter location due to backfilling or other
relocation will require additional charges and further time delays.
An order requesting the "relocation of service" MUST be signed in
our office before such work can be performed.
